Weeks 104 & 105: Monday, August 18, 2025 – Sunday, August 31, 2025
Good afternoon, everyone,
I hope you are all enjoying your weekends.
Yesterday officially marked my 2-year anniversary in Mexico! I can hardly believe it. It's amazing to think that I've been living in Mexico for two whole years and that my service is almost coming to an end.
To mark the end of my service, I thought I would share with you all an interview I wrote for a fellow PCV in Armenia, Jim Damico. Jim reached out to me a few weeks ago via LinkedIn and asked me if I was interested in participating in his project in which he interviews volunteers serving all over the world. My interview is #118 if that tells you anything about the impressive number of volunteers that he has interviewed. I'm excited about this interview, and I'm even more excited about the fact that in a couple of months, Jim has offered to publicize it across his various social media platforms in an effort to help me gain the attention of potential employers in my field.
I hope you enjoy reading this interview. It pretty much summarizes everything I've written about over the last 2 years in this blog. Writing it served as an excellent exercise for reflecting on my last couple of years.

Otherwise, I don't have too many updates for you this week. Since arriving back in Neblinas, I've been busy getting to work, trying to wrap up my projects, and starting to say my goodbyes. I only have 6 weeks left in community before I have to say goodbye!!
With so little time left, I've been working hard to finish my project at the Casa de Cultura. It's pretty much been consuming all of my time the last couple of weeks. I'm hopeful that by the end of this week, we will have everything ready to go and I can finally focus on planning my goodbye party and spend time visiting people around the community.
Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!
Love,
Ilana
